Is CBD bad for you?

As with most compounds, over consumption of CBD may have negative health effects. However, taking CBD in moderation is not thought to cause harmful side effects. That being said, research is still ongoing on the potential health benefits and complications of using CBD. Some of the potential health risks that may be associated with CBD consumption include:

  • Fatigue or drowsiness
  • Dry mouth
  • Low blood pressure
  • Dizziness
  • Liver damage
  • Irritability or mood swings
  • Diarrhea and dietary changes

Additionally, CBD can affect how the body responds to other medications in the system. For example, CBD may increase the speed at which blood-thinning medications work when both are taken at the same time.

In addition, pregnant women are advised not to use CBD products. There are currently no known pregnancy complications associated with CBD use in humans. However, animal studies have shown that CBD has some potential harmful effects on fetal development.
